Position Summary
Maintains quality standards by in-process inspection and training of assembly personnel, including explanations of assembly techniques, procedures, and processes. Ensures that all new assembly personnel are trained to J-STD-001, IPC-610 and current Unitron standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
▪ Review unit build documentation packages for completeness and accuracy
▪ Perform In-Process Inspection on all items used in manufacturing process as required
▪ Provide training and explanation for assembly personnel and mentor others
▪ Read and interpret engineering drawings to accept/reject to criteria and train others about these criteria
▪ Help develop new employee training, refresher training and training aids
▪ Flexibility to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
▪ Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
▪ Provide support to all phases of Assembly and Test areas as needed for guidance on Quality related issues
▪ Assist in the assembly of product as needed
▪ Work overtime on weekdays, weekends and holidays, as required
▪ Data Entry for Unit Defects ▪ Other assigned duties
Experience
▪ Familiarity with ISO 9001 and a working knowledge of J-STD-001 and IPC-610
▪ Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
▪ A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
▪ Demonstrated ability to train others – effective communication skills, both verbal and written ▪ ASQ Certified Quality Inspector is desirable but not required
▪ 2 years of QC experience
▪ 2 years of manufacturing assembly experience
Education
High School Degree or GED; further education will be a plus
Physical Requirements
▪ Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, bend, keyboard, climb stairs, reach, grasp, crimp/lug using hand tools, and speak, read and understand English fluently
▪ Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
