Job Title: Maintenance I
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Summary
Maintain and service plant operating equipment, electrical, and in-plant general necessities, such as understanding lubrication methods and procedures for Preventive Maintenance to perform PM tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receives and carries out instructions for jobs from area supervisor or leadman
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment, and facility/building issues
Knowledge of 110v, 240v systems
Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems
Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
Working knowledge of pneumatic systems
Ability to read schematics
Working knowledge and proper use of all hand tools
Ability to weld and fabricate items with mig and arc welding
Reasonable working knowledge and use of meters and gauges needed to perform duties.
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Follow and or assist in development of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs
Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards immediately
Maintains a clean and orderly work area
Meet or exceed maintenance standards
Must be able to work scheduled shift as well as overtime & weekends as required
Must be able to work as a member of the team
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to learn multiple positions within a department
Ability to read and analyze information
Adept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously
Ability to read engineered drawings
Attention to detail
Organizational details
Education and/or Experience
Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience and or an Associate’s degree in Electrical Studies or apprenticeship program
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out a repair, maintenance and service situation. Ability to deal with non-standardized situations on as daily basis. Ability to use standard instructions provided by manufacturers of plant equipment, and install/repair plant equipment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee must be able to perform tasks such as: climbing a ladder, use of aerial platforms, repetitively pushing or pulling with arms in any position including overhead, and lifting 50 pounds intermittently as needed. The employee must have a reasonable range of motion and strength of all extremities and spinal segments as determined by a physical exam. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
